Hydrocarbons and Reservoir Rock Saturation Estimates Using Seismic Data

It is suggested to study different size oilfields using optimum combination of independent seismic technologies: seismofacial analysis, optimized dynamic inversion, andfrequency-dependent seismic wave attenuation. The result of the study is the construction of facial model considering porosity distribution, effective thickness and hydrocarbon saturation. Data obtained in the oilfield in Western Siberia are presented.......

The Use of Seismoelectric Transformations in Reservoir Rocks for Pore Space Saturation

The results of laboratoiy seismoelectric researches on specimens of sedimentary rocks at their different liquid saturation coefficient ofporous space and properties of this liquid. The data testifying to dependence of kinematical seismoelectric characteristic of a transfer function from quantity of a liquid containing in rocks are obtained. The differences of phase shift between electric and acoustical signals, depending on saturation of specimens by water and not polar liquid are established. The opportunity of receiving of dependence of phase shift between acoustical and electric signals from porosity and a rock permeability is sized up.......

Low resestivity of reservoir pose several problems for establishing saturation character and determining net thickness, oil/gas saturation index and fluid contact. Petrophysical Substantiation of Well Logging Data Interpretation vs Reservoir Rock Consolidation Estimates

Quite often in case of few reservoir characteristics definitions based on core data, needed for reservoir properties estimation, petrophysical correlation obtained for similar rocks with the same properties and structure are used. Thus, the degree of rock consolidation is not always considered, which can lead to substantial errors.
