PROBABILISTIC APPROACH FOR 3D RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION

A unified probabilistic approach aimed at consistent modeling of the internal structure and properties of subsurface intervals is proposed. The method implies specifying the probabilities of various discrete variables (probabilities of belonging to stratigraphic unit, facies and lithotypes probabilities, etc.) as well as distributions’ parameters of continuous petrophysical properties (e.g. mean values and standard deviations of elastic parameters, porosity, shale content, etc.) for each 3D grid’s cell. Usage of the probabilistic approach to describing the stratigraphic framework of the model aims to explicitly take into account uncertainties related to prognosis of the geological boundaries’ position in depth and time domains. In combination with the technique based on quantitative parametrization of geologic knowledge along with the geostatistical approach to interpolation, the suggested method provides a solution of the a-priori probabilities specifying problem arising within Bayesian approach. The method is well-compatible with algorithms of quantitative seismic data interpretation and inversion. A real case study is provided in the conclusion.......

COMPLEX RESULTS OF ELECTRICAL EXPLORATION AND PETROPHYSICAL MEASUREMENTS, CONDUCTED IN-SITU TO STUDY THE SAND-GRAVEL DEPOSIT

We present the results of complex geophysical surveys, conducted at sand-gravel deposit “Podberez’e” Kaluga Region. Traditional vertical electrical soundings with measuring spectral induced polarization (IP) as well as unique petrophysical measurements insitu on the slope of sand-gravel pit were carried out. According to the results of surveys, the electrical resistivity, polarizability, humidity, magnetic properties and other physical parameters of individual horizons of the sand-gravel mix (SGM) deposit were evaluated, and their relationships were shown. The thesis about the possibility of attracting IP properties to highlight the flooded parts of the SGM deposit or to identify areas with a high content of gravel and pebble fraction in the sand-gravel deposit is confirmed.......

THREE-DIMENSIONAL INTERPRETATION OF MAGNETOTELLURIC DATA ON THE KAMCHATKA ISTHMUS

The example of the Kamchatka isthmus shows how, using the apparatus of three-dimensional mathematical modeling of electromagnetic fields, it is possible to build a 3D geoelectric model by the method of interactive selection to experimental magnetotelluric and magnetovariational data, model data. Calculations on the models show that with the known distribution of the integral conductivity of the sedimentary cover and the adjacent water areas, it is possible to isolate the conducting blocks in the lithosphere of the isthmus. The sensitivity of MT/MV fields to the determination of the conductivity of blocks of the cortex and mantle is estimated. Isolated conductive vertical and horizontal blocks in the earth crust, reflecting the fluid content in the deep faults of the conductors of the earth crust.......

APPRISAL OF THE SURFACE RELIEF INFLUENCE ON THE TEM DATA

The paper describes results of a field experiment, which consists in studying the distortion of the transient electromagnetic method curves due to the receiving loop inclination. The carried out research is a field works proved continuation of the studies conducted in the 70s of the XXth century. The article shows, that the angle of receiver loop inclination, which is important for TEM surveying, is practically determined, and the static correction (relief coefficient) is used to adjust the acquired data, which makes it possible to correctly interpret the TEM data obtained under the sloping surface relief settings.......

MONITORING OF TECHNOGENIC SEISMIC IMPACT IN ORE MINING

Relevance of work is caused by importance of a problem of decrease in dangerous influence of technogenic seismicity by underground mining of rocky fields with use of explosive works. Generalization is executed and results of the analysis of the theory and practice of an explosive otboyka of metal ores are given. Methods of management of a condition of the massif with use of opportunities of miner geophysics are concretized.
