INVERSE ROCK PHYSICS: RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION OF THE TYUMEN FORMATION

We performed deterministic reservoir prediction based on inverse rock physics modeling for two oilfields in the West Siberia, Russia. The target zone is Tyumen formation. It consists of a thinly laminated sand-shale-coal sequences. The idea of the proposed method is to calibrate the rock physics model and then apply it in reverse direction for reservoir properties evaluation. In this case, the input data are elastic attributes, the output will be reservoir properties. We applied Bayesian approach for rock physics inversion. As a result, we transformed seismic scale elastic attributes P-impedance and S-impedance into reservoir parameters: volume of sand, volume of clay, volume of coal and porosity.......

The article describes the Triassic deposits geological structure and sedimentation conditions of the central part of the South Mangyshlak Zhetybai-Uzen stage with the aim of predicting of non-structural type traps. As a result of a comprehensive study of 3D seismic data and geophysical well survey data within the study area, it was possible to identify a trap in medium Triassic carbonate organogenic buildup and a trap associated with Upper Triassic turbidite sediments.......

The article describes the results of studies of the Central Khoreyver Uplift Famennian carbonate reservoirs based on petroelastic modeling. Integration of lithological studies and well log data allowed using an effective mathematical model of the studied rocks, to identify the relationship between lithological and petrophysical parameters and elastic properties on the basis of which the criteria for prediction of reservoir properties from seismic data were formulated.......

INFLUENCE OF HETEROGENEOUS STRESS-STRAIN STATE OF ROCKS ON FORMATION OF SECONDARY POROSITY OF RESERVOIRS

In fields with complex geometric structure of productive layers, in areas of sharp changes in the thickness of the layers and large angles of occurrence of the roof or sole formed zones of heterogeneous stresses, leading to deformation of rocks. To identify such zones, geomechanical modeling of the productive formation of the oil field was used, with the help of which areas with obvious extremes of stress concentrations were identified. Analysis of wells and log data showed that in areas with maximum stress concentrations, rock fracturing occurs, leading to a sharp increase in well productivity.......

The change in filtration-capacitive properties of carbonate rocks of late Cambrian age of the NEPA-botuoba anteclize analyzed for a vast collection of specimens, shows the impact on the petrophysical properties of rocks, their lithological characteristics and development of secondary processes, including salinization of the pore space of the halite. Are shown examples of the influence of complex multicomponent composition of rocks on the elastic properties of rocks, determined by the extended set of GIS and wave acoustic logging methods.......
