Display of induce polarization different types in electromagnetic measurements by the line

The difference in the components of the EM signal of the transient process recorded by the inductive receiver and the grounded line above the conducting polarizing Earth is shown. The difference in the manifestation of induction-induced polarization (IPI) and galvanically induced polarization (IPG) is shown when measuring the signal of becoming a grounded line in the axial zone of the source -a galvanically grounded line. The transient process in a conducting polarizing earth after an impulse action by an earthed line is more complicated than after a similar action by an inductive loop. Signals IPI and IPG in the axial zone of the source of the grounded line will have different signs, so under certain conditions, they can compensate each other. The study of such conditions is of interest for practical electrical prospecting.......

Tectonosphere of the Crozet and Conrad rises by geophysical data

Based on the anomaly data of gravitational and magnetic fields, seismotomography and other geological and geophysical data are identified differences in the structure and evolution of the Crozet and Conrad rises, which are located in the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean. Both rises were formed on the oceanic lithosphere but at different times. This difference is confirmed by the results of the study. Also on the basis of the obtained results is identified the same structure of the seamounts Marion Dufre (Conrad Rise) and Afanasy Nikitin (Central Indian basin).......

Calibration and express-transformation signals of compact equipment for near surface electromagnetic profiling

The paper presents a new approach to solving the problem of compensating the «direct field» of the generator in the air, and its implementation in compact electromagnetic equipment. Instrument parameters necessary for effective interpretation of data can be obtained by means of several types of calibration. The initial data are transformed into the apparent resistivity values. Controlling the equipment with the communicator opens great opportunities for visualizing the results. To display the values of the apparent resistivity in real time, the procedure for express data transformation is presented.......

The systems approach to development of borehole acoustic logging tools for oil and gas boreholes surveys

This article represents the systems approach to development of modern borehole acoustic wave-logging tools. A trend of using multipole sources and multi-array measurement is shown. There are examined the features of approach based on computer and physical modeling results application for choosing main tool components such transducers, receivers, acoustic insulators and antennas. The most important goals and results of modeling, the technical solutions of wave-logging tool elements construction and configuration are given. The examples of successful experimental tool records in field and control boreholes are illustrating the reaching of high level quality when estimating wave slownesses, porosity and permeability coefficients, Puasson and anisotropy coefficients. Moreover, the quadrupole source and wireline tool surveys comparison done. Quadrupole mode processing has allowed a good match of shear wave slowness estimation.......
