THE CHOICE OF OPTIMAL TECHNOLOGY OF MEASUREMENT AND PROCESSING OF BOREHOLE ACOUSTIC DATA IN OPEN AND CASED WELLS

The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of the tools and processing algorithms used for borehole sonic. The authors have studied acoustic data obtained in the same wells (both open and cased) by the following manufacturers: XMAC («Baker Hughes»), Sonic Scanner and DSI («Schlumberger»), MPAL («CPL», China), AVAK-11 («Neftegazgeofizika», Tver, Russia). The processing results done by service companies and by authors have been analyzed. Data quality assessment was conducted on the basis of integrated interpretation of log and core data and rock physics modeling.......

3D DIFFRACTION IMAGING OF 3D SEISMIC DATA ON THE BASIS OF ASYMMETRIC SUMMATION AND SPECTRAL FILTERING

The paper presents 3D diffraction imaging procedure and its application for the fracture zones characterization. The algorithm consist of two methods. The main is the asymmetric summation which provides selective images and is implemented by the double focusing of Gaussian beams. And the additional spectral filtering of selective images is done to remove the residual part of the regular reflections from selective images. The methodology is demonstrated on 3D seismic data generated for realistic fractured models.......

NORMAL EFFECTIVE STRESS INFLUENCE ON PERMEABILITY ENHANCEMENT FOR CARBONATE RESERVOIRS

Natural fracturing for carbonate reservoirs is one of the most significant factors affecting the oil and gas production. The permeability depends on the density and fracture orientation with respect to the current stress state. In terms of the state of stress, conductive fractures are often critically stressed. Secondary processes promote healing and cementing cracks in the course of geological time, and therefore require an approach by which it will be possible to evaluate - which the cracks are hydrodynamically active and which are not. The author conducted geomechanical analysis of data on wells of the Timan-Pechora oil and gas basin. The results of evaluation of the current stress state of rocks and dependent from stress conductivity of fractures are presented in this article.......

THE COMPARISON OF TWO ACQUISITION SYSTEMS FOR THE 4D BINNING WORKFLOW

This paper introduces binning methods for the time-lapse seismic data processing. For the improvement of seismic images, CDP bins have to comprise the similar acquired seismic traces from the both survey. The different measures based on the source and receiver geometrical distances were used for the 4D binning. Wave fields comparison is often performed by the NRMS repeatability metric, based on the normalized RMS difference of two seismic traces. In this study for the two traces geometry position comparison, we offer to use new metric FNRMS based on first Fresnel zones calculation. FNRMS measure introduces the two traces geometry distance in term of the Fresnel zones overlapping. We demonstrate the variation of the FNRMS measure for the common source and common dip point records.......
