Main problems of studying of the Bazhen formation deposits

An overview of the currently existing ideas about the group of rocks rich in organic carbon - black shales is provided. Foreign resource assessment of shale oil showed that the most significant technically recoverable shale resources are located in Russia. The main problems in the study of shale oil of the Bazhen Formation (BS) are associated with the complex heterogeneous lithological structure, the lack of common methods of core analysis, the uncertainty of collector type, the structure of void space, the lack of the concept of deposit with the possibility of contouring it. Thus far there is no clear common position on the geological structure of the BS deposits, issues of development of the Bazhen Formation remain debatable. In the series of the articles, a group of authors present the results of the study of the Bazhen Formation of the Salym group of fields received by employees of OJSC «OC» «Rosneft», CGE OJSC, Lomonosov Moscow State University.......

Model of the petroliferous rocks of the Bazhen formation

Results of the special and specific researches of Bazhen formation core material are stated, including geochemical researches; types of hollowness, features of their formation and conversation possibility of opened volume into closed, requirements for location of free and physically linked hydrocarbons in complicated hollow space are shown. Bazhen formation model is proposed, without knowledge about this model it’s impossible to formulate algorithms for determinition calculated parameters. Also a conclusion is drawn about presence of 3 deposits (volumes) types in Bazhen, which are should be counted and estimated.......

Statistical analysis of the results of core analysis of the Bazhen formation of the Salym group of fields

In this arcticle generalization of sizeable information content for Salym region fields were made such as lithologocal, geochemical and petrophysical, this content helped to answer several question, which were not facing researches before. It was shown which parameters, counted using Bazhen formation core and in which combination - mineralogical, geochemical, petrophysical - connecting in definite common factors, between which parameters it’s possible to trace correlation, if dependence of parameters on Bazhen rocks territorial accessory is traced.......

Setting of the petrophysical model of the deposits of the Bazhen formation in wells with an extended well logging suite

Bazhen formation (BS) of Western Siberia is one of the most promising targets for increasing the resource base of oil. To estimate the volume of technically recoverable oil the technology of core columns research is offered, designed to meet the high content of organic matter. Studying the structure of BS rocks using precision techniques revealed specific types of porosity inherent in high-carbon deposits. A base for the interpretation of well logging surveys was prepared as the result of petrophysical studies. Carrying out estimation of technically recoverable oil on the basis of the modern extended well logging suite is the most correct. Reducing the number of methods in well logging survey lessens the possibilities of estimating the linear volume of recoverable hydrocarbon fluids, and the use of standard well logging suite for high-carbon deposits, in principle, can not be used for calculating the porosity. A technique that relies on the core analysis data and the results of interpretation in reference wells with the expanded well logging suite is developed for wells with a limited well logging suite.......
