On the application of velocity analysis in assessing the accuracy of 3D-seismic imaging

Efficient quadrature schemes with averaging window for integration of wave fields and their application to the Kirchhoff seismic migration

Efficient quadrature schemes with averaging window are presented for integrating rapidly oscillating wavefields. The integrating method is not related to the numericalfilter theory, but is based on clear ideas of interpolation. The method was implemented in SeismoScan 3-D seismic prestack depth migration software and successfully used for several years in many production projects. These schemes are able to suppress noise on the migrated shallow and medium-depth images without degrading their resolution, while significantly enhancing the quality of the final results. Although the quadrature formulas involve averaging in trapezoidal windows, practically identical results can be obtained by using simplified formulas with averaging in rectangular windows. The width of those windows is related to the gradient of the eikonal that describes the integration surface in the multidimensional space of independent variables - the coordinates of the sources, receivers and the image point. The quadrature formulas are adapted for applying to specific geometries of marine and land seismic surveys. A practical example of 3-D Kirchhoff prestack depth migration is provided comparing results of traditional rectangle quadratures and the quadratures with averaging window.......

The majority ofpublications on problems offorecasting of a neftenosnost of bazhenovsky deposits on seismic data testify that the main methodical reception is search of statistical communications of any parameters of a wave field with efficiency indicators. In work essentially new approach which is based on physical model of a structure of productive formation of the bazhenovsky horizon is offered. Not all parameters of model are precisely defined for today and in the description of a technique it was necessary to do some assumptions.
