SOLUTION OF METHODICAL AND GEOLOGICAL PROBLEMS BY THE VSP METHOD IN PERMAFROST CONDITIONS

In areas characterized by permafrost, the main difficulties are associated with the unstable upper part of the section, which manifests itself in sharp changes in seismic velocities. These changes must be taken into account when changing the location of the excitation point in different modifications of the VSP method. In the article the possibilities of different modifications of the VSP method in solving methodological and geological problems are shown on experimental VSP materials obtained in the North of Siberia. The focus is on the forecast of the section below the bottom of the well. The influence of the excitation point offset on the accuracy of seismic velocities prediction below the bottom hole is shown.......

POSSIBILITIES OF P-WAVES VELOCITY AZIMUTAL ANALYSIS FOR EVALUATION OF SUBVERTICAL FRACTURES

The question of carrying out azimuth velocity analysis for standard excitation parameters and recording of 3D seismic data surveys is considered. The method was tested on an area with zones of development of anticline folds of tectonic genesis, separated by linear-mobile zones. It is shown that the relative anisotropy of the velocities of longitudinal waves can reach significant values in the zones of influence on the environment of disjunctive disturbances. When studying subvertical fracturing of carbonate rocks, azimuthal changes of the P-wave velocities can be an effective tool for obtaining information about seismic anisotropy.......
